How to write engaging Facebook Posts

  1. Pictures, pictures, pictures! People are on Facebook to be entertained. High quality pictures, beautiful pictures, funny pictures. Keep your comments short and to the point, you only have a few seconds to grab their attentions.
  2. Questions. Ask your fans a question to engage them. “How do you like this”? What do you prefer, this or that”? “Yes or no”? “Too much or just right”?  People want to communicate and won’t disappoint you if you give them the chance.
  3. Fill in the blank. “This dress is ___”, This room is ____” I love this design because ____”
  4. Holiday wishes. Show your human side! Show employees’ birthdays, babies, weddings, celebrations.
  5. Celebrate milestones and say thank you.
  6. Competitions. I recently ran a competition for a furniture company with a floor mirror as a gift. They were inundated with replies and many actually wrote a little paragraph on WHY they need or wanted it. Great engagement.
  7. Remember when? Nostalgia is a great way to engage people. Even if the thing you’re remembering was not the best at the time it’s fun to reminisce and think about what it was like back in the day.
