Four Ways to Optimize you Social Media Profile for Success

Social Media is all about engagement and you need to take your social media presence to the next level to optimize success.

Social media is crucial  for lead generation and customer relationships and most importantly, optimizing your success as a business. More important than SEO and word-of-mouth advertising, according to Wasp Barcode Technologies’ “State of Small Business Report.”

Small businesses rank social media as their third most important marketing tactic for reaching new customers, closely behind email (#1) and having a website (#2).

As of 2014, 72 percent of B2C marketers have acquired a customer through Facebook.

Depending on your target audience, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and even Pinterest are all important networks for building brand recognition, connecting with customers, and generating new leads and optimozing success.

Here’s how to elevate your social media presence for success:

  • Optimize your success by  increasing your “customer care” with better service.  The new age of social care where customers voice their dissatisfaction directly on social media, by tweeting it or by letting you know on Facebook. By reaching out on social media they want a quick response and solution.

The way you handle it is just as important as the solution. Acknowledge and respond immediately. Do damage control and invite you to send a private message to get it out of the public eye as soon as possible. The speed of the response is critical!

  • You most probably know about the “80/20” content mix: 80% relevant and interesting posts, and 20 posts about your company.  Without this mix you cannot expect an engaging audience and presence.  It’s not all about you, it’s all about them.  Roughly 20% of your content will make up for 80% of your sales. This is crucial to be successful on social media.

20% it is all about promotion and advertising yourself, 80% is about entertaining them, getting to know them, engaging them.

  • To be successful on social media you should not  be afraid to evoke emotion. Every like, share, favorite, retweet, or share is a direct reflection of how a customer wants to be perceived by the public, reports Nextiva.  Pride is another emotion that Nextiva recommends marketers keep in mind: “Each Like, Share, Favorite, etc. is a reflection of what each user wants to share with the public, and is creating a sense of pride for themselves. It may not be an obvious choice to create posts that would elicit pride, but they can be very effective.
  • Use the right hashtags for maximum search visibility.  Don’t use more than 3 hashtags per post  and brand hashtags are acceptable. If you are not sure what hashtag to use  we recommend  to track trending tags.

Now is the time to use Social Media the right way to optimize your success!
